1. 收到难民决定信后，可着手开始申请永久居民。

2. 家人必须包括在申请内， All of your family members must be listed on your application.

对家人的定义和一般的理解有所不同：

Spouse 配偶
Common-law partner 同居配偶
Dependent children 本人或配偶的 22岁以下未婚子女； 22岁以上，读大学，经济主要依靠父母；22岁以上，但由于健康原因，经济主要依靠父母
Dependent child of a dependent child 孙子女

3. 需要申请难民时需要的所有身份证件，外加每人2张照片

4. 难民决定信的复印件

5. 证件的翻译和公证：

证件翻译成英文或法文，由翻译出示affidavit （书面证词需要经过律师签名公证）, 非英文证件的复印件也需要经过公证 certify

Any document that is not in English or French must be accompanied by:

the English or French translation; and
an affidavit from the person who completed the translation; and
a certified copy of the original document.

Persons authorized to certify copies include the following:

Follow the step-by-step instructions below to complete the application forms.
The following are the forms that must be filled out and submitted:

you, the principal applicant;
any person included in the application for permanent residence who has also been found to be a protected person including your spouse or common-law partner, and all dependent children age 18 years or older.

Important information. It is a serious offence to give false or misleading information on these forms. The information you provide on your application may be subject to verification.

7. 缴费

最简单的办法就是在网上付款，并把收据打印出来放到申请文件中一起邮寄。

但是需要在有打印机的电脑上付费。网上付费的好处是，一旦多交了钱，CIC会及时退款到你的卡上。

Follow these step-by-step instructions to pay using the Internet.

Go to Pay my fees online at the CIC website.
Follow the on-line instructions.
- At the end, click on the button to print the CIC official receipt with barcode.

Note. Do not exit without printing the receipt!

Fill in the Payer Information Section by hand.
Attach the bottom portion (copy 2) of this receipt to your completed application.

8. 邮寄

当所有的材料准备齐全后，把文件清单检查一遍，Document Checklist, 并把这份清单也放进信封。最好用快递或者注册信邮寄，保证安全。以下是邮寄地址，你自己的地址写在左上角，收信部门的地址写在信封中央。

Make sure you use and submit the Document Checklist (IMM 5286) along with your application forms and supporting documents.

9. CIC在收到申请后，会回信告知。然后就是等待。在等待过程中关注CIC的信件，要求你补充材料等等。我的信件都是通过邮件收到的。有的人也许会通过Mail收到。确保搬家后及时改换地址。或者，用Email 最方便。随时随地查收。
